April 2020: Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).  For SAAM, the Department of the Attorney General joins its Hawaii Sexual Assault Response and Training (HSART) Program partners including police, victim advocates, prosecutors, sexual assault nurse and forensic examiners in raising awareness about sexual violence and to inform communities how to support survivors.

HSART also supports the National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s (NSVRC) SAAM 2020 theme “I Ask” and its goal for individuals and organizations to raise public awareness about sexual harassment, assault and abuse and to educate communities on how to prevent it. HAWAII SERVICES FOR SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT

I am a survivor of sexual assault, and would like emotional support or other services.  Who can I contact?  Every county maintains a 24-hour hotline for survivors of sexual assault.  Survivors are encouraged to contact the hotlines at any time for support, care, and advocacy.
